2020 Adaptive Sports Calendar Photo Contest

Disabled Sports USA (DSUSA) is accepting photo submissions for its 2020 Adaptive Sports Calendar. Photo submissions will be accepted until September 30, 2019 at 5:00 PM Eastern Standard Time. By submitting an entry, each contestant agrees to the eligibility and other details outlined below.

Eligibility:

The photo contest is open to photographers who are 18 years old or older. To be eligible, a photograph must have been shot by the entrant since January 1, 2017. The contestant certifies that he/she is the sole creator and copyright owner of the submitted photograph. We do not accept digitally or otherwise enhanced or altered photos, with the exception of cropped photos or minor adjustments, including the removal of sensor dust or scratches on scans of negatives, dodging and burning, sharpening, contrast, toning, slight color adjustment and conversion to grayscale are acceptable. The addition and subtraction of objects is not permitted.

DSUSA reserves the right to disqualify any image for consideration if judges feel the submission does not meet the eligibility criteria. Disabled Sports USA will determine winners’ eligibility in its sole discretion.

What To Enter:

The Adaptive Sports Calendar showcases individuals with physical disabilities who are participating in adaptive sports. Individual photographers, organizations, or parties interested in being considered for inclusion can submit up to three (3) images that exemplify the power of adaptive sports. High quality, horizontal images work best for the layout, size and design of the printed calendar, as well as images that aren’t too cluttered or busy with background activity. Submissions that are overtly intended to promote a product (s) may not be considered.

For a photo in which a person is recognizable, you must have the ability to provide a signed media/photo release that grants permission of the individual for his or her image to be used publicly and, in the case of a minor or individual that is legally incapacitated, the permission of the subject’s parent or guardian. You must be able to provide a photo caption that includes individual’s names as well as other pertinent information that might be of interest to the viewer, including identifying the activity and location of activity.

If the entrant is unable to provide the required release (s), Disabled Sports USA in its sole discretion reserves the right to disqualify the submission. Photos that violate or infringe upon another person’s rights, including but not limited to copyright, are not eligible.

How to Enter:

Please submit photographs and requested information (see below) to communications@dsusa.org. High resolution photographs must be submitted in .jpeg, or .jpg format. Please only include one image per email sent, and including the following information in the body of that email:

In addition to the image, please also include a signed media/photo release of the individual (s) who can be identified in the photograph. If you cannot do this, please provide a statement in the body of the email as to the reason. Disabled Sports USA reserves the right to disqualify incomplete entries.
