James ArnoldOFFICE COORDINATOR
James joined the Move United team in 2017 as a Development Intern, and moved into the role of Office Coordinator and Executive Assistant as he completed his B.S. in Public Health Science at The University of Maryland, College Park. Born and raised in Baltimore, MD, James’s passion for serving those with disabilities stems from his days of operating his mentor’s wheelchair. In his free time, James enjoys spending time outdoors hiking, paddling, and biking with friends.

Jacki BaresMARKETING MANAGER
Jacki joined the Move United team in 2020 as the Marketing Manager. The Cleveland, OH native graduated from the University of Findlay with a B.S. in Marketing. Her strong belief in the transformative power of sports coupled with her work experience at New York Road Runners, Madison Square Garden and the Cleveland Cavaliers brought her to Move United. She’s an avid Broadway show attendee, boutique fitness aficionado and Cleveland sports fan. When she’s not at a show, class or watching a CLE win, the former gymnast and pole vaulter can be found running, biking, playing softball or snowboarding. She currently resides in Manhattan with her cat, Joan.

Shuan ButcherCOMMUNICATIONS MANAGER
Shuan joined the Move United team in 2017. He has spent over 20 years in the nonprofit sector in various capacities and leadership positions. He received his undergraduate degree from West Virginia University and a Master of Science in Strategic Leadership from Mountain State University. An Army Veteran, he has coordinated the annual Brunswick Veterans Day for the past six years and is involved in other community organizations and efforts. Shuan has written for various publications, including the Frederick News Post, Eastern Home & Travel magazine, and others. He is also a member of the National Press Club. He lives in Frederick (MD) with his wife Cindy and dog Snowball. They enjoy a number of outdoor activities, live music, and traveling.

Jessica CloyCOMPETITION MANAGER-OPERATIONS
Jessica joined the Move United team in 2020 as the Competition Manager – Operations. Jessica has a B.S. in Kinesiology and M.S. in Community Health both from the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana. She is a four time Paralympian in track and field and has served as a volunteer with Adaptive Sports USA and the US Olympic and Paralympic Committee as well as other organizations serving the adaptive athlete community. She currently resides in Georgia with her two daughters and husband and when not at work she is often driving her kiddos from activity to the next!

Cheryl CollinsDIRECTOR OF DEI
As the Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI), Cheryl works to represent, uplift, and amplify people from diverse communities. She does this through a variety of initiatives, including leading the DEI Taskforce, overseeing a mentorship program that promotes diversity in adaptive sports leadership, and engagement of Move United staff on issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Her work ensures that Move United programming is inclusive and welcoming to a diversity of people, ideas, perspectives and experiences. Cheryl brings two decades of experience with adaptive sports administration to this role; previously serving as Move United’s Administrative Services Manager, Chapter Services Manager and Insurance and Risk Director.

Kyleen DavisMEMBER SERVICES DIRECTOR
Kyleen has worked with Move United since 2005, and as the Member Services Director, she directs and oversees the organizational and individual membership programs, as well as the insurance and risk management programs. Kyleen has a B.A. in History from St. Mary’s College of Maryland, and a Masters in Tourism Administration with a concentration in Sports Management from The George Washington University. Outside the office, Kyleen can be found hiking with her dogs, baking, and attempting to garden.

Orlando GillFIELD REPRESENTATIVE
Orlando Gill has been with Move United since 2006, first serving as a volunteer, then a Program Assistant Coordinator, and currently as a Field Representative. Orlando acts as the face of the organization, going to various hospitals speaking to wounded soldiers about Move United’s mission. He is a peer mentor for many of the soldiers as he knows first-hand what they are experiencing, considering he too was wounded in Iraq; he is an above-the-knee amputee. Orlando, whose favorite sports are snowboarding and SCUBA, describes his favorite part of the job as “actually getting the patients out participating in sports.”

Huayra Gomez-GarciaSENIOR EVENTS MANAGER
Huayra has been with Move United since 2006 and serves as the Senior Events Manager, responsible for overseeing Move United’s Grant Program, Warfighter Sports, Youth Program, the annual The Hartford Ski Spectacular, and the internship program. Huayra is a proud graduate of the University of Florida (Go Gators!), where she obtained her B.S. in Exercise and Sports Sciences with a specialization in Athletic Training and a minor in Spanish. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, playing volleyball, dancing, watching sports and traveling.

Cayla HammakerEDUCATION DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
Cayla joined the Move United team in 2018 as a Program Specialist. While obtaining her B.S. in Exercise and Movement Science at University of Vermont, Cayla completed an internship with Vermont Adaptive Ski and Sports. Since then, she has played a volunteer role in several non-profit and volunteer-run groups serving individuals of all abilities. Prior to joining Move United, Cayla worked for Spaulding Rehab Hospital’s adaptive sports program in Boston, MA. Cayla currently has her PSIA Adaptive Alpine Level I Certification and in her free time enjoys skiing, travelling, running with her dog, and seeking new adventures.

Lily JagodzinskiEVENTS SPECIALIST
Lily joined the Move United team in 2018 as an events specialist. Originally from Buffalo, New York, she received her B.S. in Physical Education in 2016 and M.S.Ed in Adapted Physical Education at The College at Brockport in 2018. Throughout her education, Lily worked for a non-profit summer sports camp organization for children with visual impairments and competed for the Division III gymnastics team. She enjoys anything to do with Harry Potter, petting cute dogs, and outdoor adventures.

Julianne MillsPROGRAM MANAGER
Julianne serves as Program Manager for Move United’s Education program. She first discovered adaptive sport as a high school student volunteering at a therapeutic riding program. After completing a B.S. in psychology, Julianne pursued a career in equine assisted activities as a PATH International Advanced Registered Instructor. She also has extensive experience in volunteer management and piloted a mentor program to provide supported volunteer opportunities for adults with disabilities. Her idea of the perfect weekend is getting off the grid with friends and family to enjoy camping, fishing, and freedom from alarm clocks. She is the three-time winner of Move United’s Annual Chili Cookoff.

BreAnne PodgorskiATHLETE ENGAGEMENT SENIOR COORDINATOR
Bre Podgorski joined the Move United team in August of 2013 as an intern and never looked back. A 2013 graduate of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with a degree in Recreation, Sport, and Tourism, Bre found her love of providing opportunities for people with disabilities through working as a camp counselor and managing the collegiate wheelchair basketball team. Bre is an avid Cubs fan from the Southside of Chicago and spends her free time at sporting events, outside, or with her dog.

Krista RappoccioSENIOR EDUCATION MANAGER
Krista joins Move United as its Senior Education Manager. Utilizing 10 years of teaching and leadership experience in New York City Public Schools, Krista is committed to advancing the development of inclusive, accessible and equity driven outcomes nationwide. As a certified Stunt and Cross Country coach, Krista has always been an advocate for opportunities in sports for students with disabilities. She obtained her School Leadership Degree from Bank Street College of Education, previously attending both Hunter College for her MA in Ed and Quinnipiac University for her BS in International Business/BA in History. A New Yorker at heart, Krista lives in Washington DC, where she enjoys traveling, reading, history, cooking and a good Netflix binge (balanced out with long runs along the Anacostia River)!

Julia RayPROGRAMS DIRECTOR
Julia Ray has been working with Move United since 2003. During her tenure she has been instrumental in getting individuals with disabilities, including youth and wounded warriors involved in adaptive sports. Julia oversees Move United’s summer and winter programs, Warfighter Sports, The Hartford Ski Spectacular and more. Prior to joining Move United, she worked in United Kingdom in adaptive sports programming, exercise testing and international doping control.She is a certified gymnastics coach, SCUBA diver and has many years’ experience in the development and expansion of sports programs for people with disabilities. Julia received a B.S. (HONS) in Sports Administration and Management. She lives in Washington, D.C. with her husband and two daughters.

Susan RossiDIRECTOR OF COMPETITION
Susan Rossi is a mission driven sport and rehabilitation professional with 22 years of knowledge/education, experience, and established relationships in the Paralympic and adaptive sports industry, including Adaptive Sports USA and the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee. She holds a BS from the University of Kansas in Exercise and Sport Science and a Masters in Nonprofit Leadership Management from Arizona State University. In addition, Susan is a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist. Susan resides outside of Denver, CO with her husband, and elementary-aged daughter and son. She enjoys being outdoors and recreating in the Colorado sun, travelling and exploring new territory with family and friends, eating delicious ethnic food and live music.

Ryan SemkeINSURANCE PROGRAM MANAGER
Ryan started as an intern with Move United in September of 2014. Upon completion of his internship, he returned to Springfield College and graduated in May 2015 with a degree in Sport Management. In September of 2015 he returned to Move United and hasn’t looked back. He is now a member of the Member Services team, overseeing the Insurance Program and Sport Protection Policy. Ryan is a firm believer in the positive effects that sports can have on someone’s spirit, mind, and body. Ryan is from upstate New York and is an outdoor enthusiast. He currently has his PSIA-AASI Adaptive Snowboard Level I Certification and enjoys spending his time hiking, sitting by a fire, and going on adventure’s with his wife and their rescue pup Gunner.

Najeeb SiddiquiGRANTS ADMINISTRATOR
Najeebullah Siddiqui has more than 10 years experience in non-profit industry and USAID developmental projects such as agricultural, provision of small grants, gender mainstreaming and equality, training programs and value chain projects. Najeeb has completed his master’s degree in business administration at Kardan University, Kabul, Afghanistan. He has travelled to more than 10 countries and organized several agricultural trade fairs, workshops and grants fairs. Born and raised in Kabul, Afghanistan, Najeeb has moved to USA with his wife and 3 kids in 2018. He loves watching soccer and cricket on tv and playing volleyball with friends.

Dave Simonson began with Move United in 2010 and focuses on development and sponsor relations. He has worked in both the nonprofit and private sectors, and also served for eight years in the U.S. Air Force. He has been involved in adaptive sports for more than ten years. Dave’s favorite sports are cycling and avoiding yard work.

Bill SnyderCHIEF FINANCIAL AND OPERATING OFFICER
Bill joined Move United in 2010 and splits his time between financial management and overseeing operations. He brings more than 20 years of experience in nonprofit management to the team. Bill grew up in Northeast Pennsylvania and is married to Becky; they live in Germantown, MD with their children Elizabeth and Billy. Bill holds an undergraduate degree from Penn State University and a graduate certificate in nonprofit studies from Johns Hopkins University. Bill loves hiking and enjoys watching Penn State football. He is currently trying to keep up with his son in Karate.

Karalyn StottPROGRAM MANAGER
Karalyn has worked with Move United since 2010, working with chapters to grow sports opportunities for people with disabilities through the Move United Warfighters and instructor education programs. She transitioned to her current role in sport development in 2019. Karalyn earned her undergraduate degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of Iowa, and her Master’s in Sports Industry Management from Georgetown University. A native Iowan, Karalyn spends her Saturday’s in the fall watching Hawkeye football. She also enjoys running, Grand Slam tennis, and adventure traveling.

Kirk BauerEMERITUS DIRECTOR, RETIRED
After Kirk Bauer, JD lost his leg from a grenade explosion in Vietnam in 1969, he experienced the thrill of snow skiing as part of his rehabilitation through Move United, which was just beginning as an organization. Now more than 50 years later, after 13 years as a volunteer and participant and 36 years as executive director, Kirk led the organization to become one of the largest programs in the nation; serving individuals with disabilities, through over 120 community chapters in 40 states. Kirk was twice awarded the Bronze Star for heroism in battle and holds a Doctorate of Law degree from Boston University. He retired as Executive Director on December 31, 2018.
