Officiating Adaptive Track & Field Webinar Scheduled on March 3

Move United is partnering with Adaptive Track & Field USA (ATFUSA) on a new webinar series on Officiating Adaptive Track & Field. The first session, “Officiating Seated Field,” will take place on March 3, 2021 from 7:00-8:30pm EST.

The presentation is designed to inform Officials about Para specific rules for the conduct of seated throws events as well as information on how to officiate those events.  The material is at the National Technical Official (NTO) level and requires some experience in officiating field events.  The educational goals for this presentation are to educate participants about which athletes participate in seated throwing events, what equipment they use, what events are incorporated and what the general conditions and rules are for those events.  Further, information will be presented on the setup and timing of these events, nuances on judging these events (including lifting), what kind of assistance is allowed for competing athletes, and what unique adaptations have been made in some events for specific sport classes of athlete.  The information is primarily didactic but also is supplemented significantly by video examples of topics discussed. Officials at all levels can benefit from the presentation.

Presented by Jerry Clayton (USA) & David Weicker (Canada), International Technical Officials (ITOs) and Educators for World Para Athletics
