Shelby Baron, Paralympian and assistant coach for University of Alabama’s Wheelchair Tennis Team, will lead a three-day juniors wheelchair tennis camp for players ages 5-18, in Richmond, VA June 11-13.
With an emphasis on fun, the camp will focus on teamwork and individual skill development for everyone from beginners to aspiring Paralympians. Participants will also have the opportunity to try out their new skills in unsanctioned match play throughout the event as part of the USTA sanctioned River City Slam wheelchair tennis tournament.
The camp will take place at the state-of-the-art Williams Bolletieri Tennis Center on The Collegiate School’s Robins Campus and thorough COVID-19 safety, socially distanced, and robust sanitization protocols will be in place.

Cost: $30 – includes lunch, official event swag, and fun giveaways! No registration needed for players registered to compete in the Junior Division of the Sportable River City Slam tournament.
Meet Shelby: A native of Hawaii, Shelby was born with Spina Bifida and has played wheelchair tennis since 2010. She was named to Team USA and competed at the 2016 Rio Paralympics while playing collegiate wheelchair tennis at the University of Alabama. She is currently working as the assistant coach for University of Alabama’s Wheelchair Tennis program and has her sights set on competing at the Tokyo Paralympics.
