When Insha was six years old, a 7.6 magnitude earthquake struck the northern region of her home country of Pakistan trapping her under the building rubble and causing her to lose her right leg. Almost two years later, Insha and her father traveled to the U.S. to help her get fitted for a new prosthesis. Insha later would stay in the U.S. to attend school and compete in alpine skiing programs. Insha attended The Hartford Ski Spectacular in 2013 to hone in on her racing skills and since then has not stopped competing. Her ultimate goal is to earn dual citizenship and compete for Team USA at the 2022 games but in the meantime, she hopes to attend Dartmouth college and ski with their varsity team.
