Criminal Background Checks

Criminal background checks will be refreshed every year, or as otherwise required by law, for Covered Individuals who are 18 years of age or older and perform services for Move United.

To assist members that do not currently have a background screening process in place, Move United has established a “parent” account with the National Center for Safety Initiatives (NCSI). Any member organization can establish a “child” account under Move United which waives the $100 start-up fee. After establishing an account, members are able to conduct Full Service Screens for $20.

Parents & Participants

Training

The U.S. Center for SafeSport provides parent and youth training services, toolkits, and resources free of charge to registered individuals. It is easy to create an online account at:

U.S. Center for SafeSport

The U.S. Center for SafeSport now has two free online courses for children of varied ages and their parents or caregivers, SafeSport for Kids (ages 5-12, 15 minutes) and SafeSport for Youth Athletes (ages 13-17, 15 minutes). These online trainings are designed as an introduction for minor athletes and their parents or other caregivers to understand the importance of positive, welcoming environments in sports, where misconduct like bullying or abuse is less likely to happen, and to know where to report abuse, should it occur.

Parent Toolkits help parents understand SafeSport best practices and how to respond to signs of abuse.
