Criminal Background Checks

Criminal background checks will be refreshed every year, or as otherwise required by law, for Covered Individuals who are 18 years of age or older and perform services for Move United.

To assist members that do not currently have a background screening process in place, Move United has established a “parent” account with the National Center for Safety Initiatives (NCSI). Any member organization can establish a “child” account under Move United which waives the $100 start-up fee. After establishing an account, members are able to conduct Full Service Screens for $20.

To establish an account through NCSI:

Parents & Participants

Training

The U.S. Center for Safe Sport provides parent and youth training services, toolkits, and resources free of charge to registered individuals. It is easy to create an online account at:

US Center for Safe Sport

These FREE resources include courses for children of preschool age; grades K-2; grades 3-5; middle school and high school. These online trainings are designed as an introduction for minor athletes and their parents or other caregivers to understand the importance of positive, welcoming environments in sports, where misconduct like bullying or abuse is less likely to happen, and to know where to report abuse, should it occur.

Parent Toolkits help parents understand SafeSport best practices and how to respond to signs of abuse.

Move United Covered Individuals

Training

Covered Individuals must successfully complete the training and quiz after the test in order to be eligible to participate with Move United. Move United has partnered with the U.S. Center on SafeSport to provide training through:

In the case of coaches selected to serve camps or events, training must be completed prior to the coach’s participation in any Move United pre-event training camp.
