Why does Move United focus specifically on those disabilities?
Move United is a small nonprofit with resources focused on veterans most in need of adaptive sports equipment, specialized instruction, accessible sports facilities, accessible transportation, etc.
While Move United does not have the resources to serve veterans beyond those described in question #3, many of our 245+ member organizations do, such as Higher Ground and Team River Runner to name two examples.
Move United has focused exclusively on adaptive sport because sports are a uniquely powerful way to help veterans become physically, mentally and socially stronger after injury.

What costs does Move United cover for veteran participants?
Move United covers the costs of adaptive instruction, adaptive sports equipment, and facilities at Move United Warfighters sponsored events.
How can I get involved in the Warfighters program?
Move United Warfighters Ambassadors are a small, select group of veterans who have been served by Move United and who are committed to helping other veterans with disabilities discover the power of adaptive sports.
Ambassadors share their stories of military service and adaptive sports participation, outreaching to veterans and engaging the public.
